A very large symbolic painting is hanging in the Great Courtroom of the Peace Palace. Eirene, the goddess of peace, is depicted centrally with Plutus, god of wealth, in her arms. She is flanked by two warriors on horseback (the parties to the dispute) surmounted by two judges or arbitrators. Above in red the personification of international law. A scale is barely visible at the top of the sky.
