Peace Palace


Ruy Barbosa was a Brazilian politician, writer and diplomat. During the 1907 Second Hague Peace Conference, he was Brazil’s delegate. Because of his strong performance at the conference, he was nicknamed “The Eagle of The Hague. At the conference he advocated, among other things, the establishment of an International Court of Justice.
