Haiti donated a large amount of fine wood to the Peace Palace, including mahogany that was incorporated into furniture such as writing tables and chairs. The designs for the furniture were created by draftsmen on duty during the construction of the Peace Palace. The designs were then sent to furniture manufacturer Johan Nederkoorn.
