Yemen – The World’s Worst Humanitarian Crisis

Global Rights Compliance (GRC) is privileged to host a unique high-level event, co-hosted with UN OCHA and supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, featuring the Netherlands premiere of the Oscar® nominated and critically acclaimed film, Hunger Ward. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the film’s director, Skye Fitzgerald, and a panel discussion with distinguished guests including Gerard Steeghs (The Kingdom of the Netherland’s Director for Multilateral Organisations and Human Rights), Corinne Woods, (Director of Communications, Advocacy and Marketing, World Food Programme), Catriona Murdoch (GRC Partner), and moderated by UN OCHA’s Kirsten Mildren.

GRC has been engaged in advancing the conflict and hunger agenda and starvation issues since 2017, supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In early September, following a year-long investigation into attacks and other conduct by parties to the conflict impacting access to food and water in Yemen, GRC and Mwatana for Human Rights released their report titled ‘Starvation Makers‘ on the use of starvation as a weapon of warfare in Yemen.
